Health officials to distribute free car seats in Little Axe

The Absentee Shawnee and Delaware Community Health -- Prevention division and the Cleveland County Health Department, have announced a free car seat giveaway 2 to 5 p.m. Friday at the Little Axe Resource Center, 1970 156th Ave. NE.

The program is being conducted in memory of Andrew Herrera Marquez, the infant son of Felipe Herrara Marquez II -- Itzel Rios.

The car seats will be distributed on a first come, first served basis, and recipients must show proof of state assistance through Women, Infants and Children; Temporary Assistance for Needy Families; food stamps, etc.

Trained technicians will be available to adjust and install car seats for each child in attendance, organizers said.

Anyone is welcome to attend. For more information, call Alexandria Hart-Smith of the Cleveland County Health Department, 579-2251.
