A 20-year-old Oklahoma City man was charged Friday in Cleveland County District Court with raping a girl, 13, who was 12 at the time of the crime.
Joshua Simpson was charged with first-degree rape and a warrant issued for his arrest.
According to police, the victim was interviewed at Mary Abbott House and said she was at a friend's house in the 10000 block of South Rockwell when Simpson sent her a text message saying he'd hit something when he left the house. He asked her to open the gate for him and she did, she said. The girl said she was cleaning the kitchen and Simpson asked for a drink of water. She brought him the water, and Simpson pushed her down on the couch and raped her, she said.
A medical exam showed the victim had trichomoniasis, an infection spread by sexual contact.
Other felonies filed Friday include:
· Timothy Duane Tranton, 32, Norman, two counts of knowingly concealing stolen property;
· Shinnin C. Mahan, 37, Norman, uttering a forged instrument; unlawful possession of a controlled drug;
· James Ellis Reiling Jr., 34, omitting to provide for a child.
