Norman man faces burglary, drug charges

A 33-year-old Norman man is facing burglary and drug charges, after he was tackled by a man who witnessed his roommate's pickup truck being ransacked early Monday.

Kevin Joseph McCarty was charged in Cleveland County District Court with second-degree burglary and possession of a controlled dangerous drug (Xanax).

According to police, McCarty was observed just after midnight Monday, sitting in a pickup in the 100 block of Andover Drive. Witnesses said the door of the pickup was open and McCarty was going through the truck's contents. The roommate of the truck's owner confronted McCarty, who allegedly grabbed a bag of tools and tried to escape on a bicycle. Police said the roommate tackled McCarty, and, along with the truck owner, detained him until police arrived. The owner of the pickup said the tools came from a tool box in the bed of the pickup.

Police said they found several Xanax in the front pocket of McCarty's shorts.

In a separate case, Jack Edward Spector, 19, Norman, was charged Monday with second-degree burglary in connection with two residential burglaries Sunday.

According to court documents, Spector told police another man contacted him and Spector drove into the driveway of one of the burglarized residences to allow the man to load stolen property into his vehicle. Spector told police he knew the other man was "doing something wrong." Spector said he and the man carried the stolen property into a woman's residence, and acquired a "quantity of drugs."

Other felonies filed Monday include:

· Ronald Lee Wagoner, 51, Moore, assault with a dangerous weapon;

· Tiffanie Rashawn Lee, also known as Tiffanie Rashawn Anderson, 24, Norman, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (automobile);

· Vincent Alan Roberts, 40, Del City, unlawful possession of a controlled drug;

· Jesus Ordaz Estupinan, 35, Oklahoma City, operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
