Golf tournament to benefit Special Olympics

Transcript Staff

Joseph Harp Correctional Center will host its annual golf tournament Sept. 5 at the Brent Bruehl Golf Course in Purcell, to benefit Special Olympics Oklahoma.

The tournament begins at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start. The $45 entry fee includes green fees and cart, goody bag, T-shirt and lunch. First and second place trophies will be awarded for A, B and Mixed flights. Cash prizes for individual holes also will be available. All entries must be received by Aug. 22, organizers said.

JHCC is one of many law enforcement agencies in the state that participate in the Law Enforcement Torch Run. The LETR is an international charity made up of law enforcement agencies raising money for Special Olympics. Last year, the state's LETR organization raised more than $180,000 in cash and in-kind donations for Special Olympics Oklahoma, officials said.
