A warrant has been issued for a former Norman resident charged with molesting four girls, ages 5, 6, 7 and 9, left with the man while the girls' parents went to a local grocery store to buy food for a cookout, police said.
Billy Dewayne Graham, 28, was charged Monday with two counts of rape by instrumentation, after former conviction of a felony; and four counts of lewd acts with a child, after former conviction of a felony.
According to police, Graham was a childhood friend of one of the girls' parents. The parents left the girls with Graham at a residence in the 1700 block of Sunrise Street while they went to a grocery store.
The girls were wearing swimsuits from having gone swimming earlier in the day, and said Graham touched them inappropriately. One of the girls ran out to the car when her parents returned and told her mother of being molested. The girls later were interviewed at Mary Abbott House and told similar stories of being touched in their private areas by Graham.
An arrest warrant was issued requesting Graham be held on $100,000 bond.
Graham has 34 former convictions, according to a Department of Corrections Web site. He was released from prison in July 2007 after serving a 15-year sentence with nine years suspended on convictions for vehicle burglaries, automobile larcenies and several counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Graham's convictions are from Cleveland, Jackson and Comanche counties, dating back to 1996.
Also Monday, a 19-year-old Norman man was charged with striking Norman Police Detective Don Blake with a vehicle in an attempt to escape from officers.
Devery Jermaine Mosley was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
According to police, several officers were involved in a project targeting underage drinkers, and at 12:45 a.m. Saturday approached a vehicle parked on Oak Tree Avenue with three suspects inside. The driver sped away and struck Blake, throwing him to the ground.
The vehicle was stopped a couple blocks away, and two suspects were arrested and one escaped, police said.
A man registered as a violent criminal offender is being sought by police after moving from his address on Halray Drive without notifying officers.
Police said Bailey Jonathan Roberts, 23, was evicted from the apartment April 22, and has not notified authorities of his whereabouts. Roberts was convicted of first-degree manslaughter from Sequoyah County in 2004, and given a five-year deferred sentence.
Other felonies include:
· Casey Farris Gordon, 21, Norman, domestic abuse;
· William Arthur Brown, 67, Moore, assault and battery upon police officers; and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
