Norman man arrested after Edmond police chase

CNHI News Service

EDMOND -- Edmond police officers were led on a high-speed chase early Wednesday morning when an officer attempted a traffic stop in the 1300 block of East 15th.

Ten minutes later, police caught Jesse Mosley of Norman, 31, hiding in a tree at Central State Park near Arcadia Lake, said Glynda Chu, Edmond Police spokeswoman.

Chu said Mosley crashed the stolen 1971 Alfa Romeo into a tree, then got out of the car and ran into the woods.?

Several officers, a canine unit and Oklahoma City's Air One helicopter helped in the search, Chu said. The Air One helicopter officer used thermal imaging to determine Mosley had climbed up into a tree and was hiding, Chu said.

No medical attention was needed for Mosley, who was booked into the Edmond Jail. He was arrested on complaints of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, speeding, resisting arrest and attempting to elude. He later was transported to the Oklahoma County Jail.

The car was reported stolen from Buddy's Classic Cars in Oklahoma City in October 2007.
