Shred paper, get flags.
Norman's curbside recycling contractor Waste Management will host a free paper shredding event 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
"We'll take any kind of paper -- checkbooks, bank statements, tax forms credit card applications," said Heather Schmuki of Waste Management.
The free shredding will be at Waste Management's Materials Recycling Facility or MRF at 5519 N.W. 4th St. in Oklahoma City. The MRF is on Fourth Street between McArthur Boulevard and Ann Arbor Drive.
Schmuki said the papers can have staples. "We'll take anything up to a pickup full," she said. "But we limit it to a (pickup) truck load per resident."
Schmuki said it is not necessary to bring a utility bill to prove residence in one of the area cities they serve with curbside recycling.
"It's just a free event for everybody," she said.
And in celebration of Flag Day, the first 100 customers to bring in paper to shred will receive a free American flag.
