The Norman Public Library, 225 N. Webster Ave., is bringing the Cimarron Circuit Opera Company to the library for a spring break production of "The Owl, the Tree, And Me."
The program will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Lowry Room .
The story is a timely lesson on the environment and being good stewards of the earth, appropriate for children and adults. No registration or tickets are required and admission is free.
The cast of Marcy Gonzalez, Claire Conner, Brandon Adams and Ian Angels transform themselves into the Owl, the Tree, and (universal) Me.? All three learn that they need to help each other in order to survive.? After the beautiful forest is reduced to a collection of stumps, two audience members will be chosen to come to the stage to help plant acorns in clay pots to rebuild the forest.?
The operetta by Richard F. Hill will tour several communities this spring with Kevin Smith, music director, and Erica Thomas, artistic director. The CCOC has been spreading music and cultural opportunities to Oklahoma's youth for 32 years with programs like this.
For more information, call the Norman library at 701-2600.
