Man charged with giving drugs, having sex, with minor

Transcript Staff

A former Norman resident has been charged with causing, aiding or encouraging a minor to commit a drug-related crime and second-degree rape, after allegedly providing a 15-year-old girl with methamphetamine and having sexual relations with her during several months this summer.

Gary C. Goodin, 39, address unknown, formerly lived in the 1900 block of Twisted Oak Drive, the charges state. The girl's parents reported the situation to Norman police July 25. Police interviewed the girl Aug. 15, and she said she'd snorted, smoked and injected "ice" with Goodin, with Goodin usually injecting her with the methamphetamine derivative. The pair usually had sex after using the drug, the girl said. Other witnesses reported seeing the girl in bed with Goodin, and said Goodin dealt and manufactured the drug.

Detectives could not locate Goodin to interview him. A warrant was issued for Goodin's arrest.

Also this week, Kevin Jay Haffner, 43, Moore, was charged with two counts of sexual abuse of a minor.

A woman told Moore police her 10-year-old daughter revealed to her that Haffner, over a two-month period, had been coming into her room at night, touching her under her clothes until she woke up, and then would tell her he'd been sleep walking.

Other charges filed recently include:

Charles Phillip Baer, 41, Norman, burglary of an auto;

David Glen Taylor, 36, Wewoka, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol;

Gary Boyd Fenimore, 42, Moore, domestic abuse;

Gerald Ray Potts, 46, Newalla, unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous drug;

Steven Wayne Patrick, 39, Moore, omitting to provide for a child;

Jimmy Charles Lanier, 45, Noble, two counts of unauthorized use of a vehicle;

Javan Holmes, 48, 48, Oklahoma City, furnishing an alcoholic beverage to a minor.
