NORMAN — Norman police are investigating the robbery of a 48-year-old Missouri man in his west Norman motel room Thursday morning.
The victim, James Sprake of Independence, Mo., told police he answered a knock at the door of his room at the Super 8 Motel, 2600 W. Main St., shortly after 8 a.m., and when he opened the door, three people entered, displayed a handgun and robbed him of cash and the keys to his vehicle.
The three were last seen driving away from the motel in the victim’s vehicle, a silver 2003 Lincoln Navigator, and their own vehicle, a white, full-sized General Motors SUV. The Navigator was purchased recently and still had the Missouri paper tag T5449M, police said.
One of the robbers was a white female, 18 to 19 years old, with long brown hair. She was wearing a green hooded sweatshirt and jeans. The second was an adult male with brown hair and a beard, wearing a ball cap, jeans and boots. The third was described only as an adult male, possibly Hispanic.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Norman police at 321-1600 or Crime Stoppers at 366-7867.
