The United Way of Norman welcomes several new members to its Board of Directors and Impact Councils for 2009/2010. These new members come from a diverse range of backgrounds, each bringing experience and insights that will help improve the work of the United Way in Norman over the coming year, according to a United Way news release.
New board members are: Jim Adair, Adair -- Associates; Connie Hobby, Johnson Controls; Taylor Krebs, University of Oklahoma Student; Pam Maguire, Astellas Pharma Technologies; Giovanni Perry, Attorney; Eric Thompson, Norman Regional Health System; Teresa Turner, University of Oklahoma Athletics and Casey Vinyard, KREF
The chairman of this year's board is Lynn Palmerton, General Manager of Sooner Mall. The following board members join Palmerton on the executive committee: Vice Chair- Tyler LaReau, LaReau -- Associates; Secretary/Treasurer- Steve Faler, Arvest Bank; Immediate Past Chair Eric Fleske, Equity Realty.
Campaign Chairs are Jim Wade, BancFirst; Randy Laffoon, KREF
Personnel Chair, Samantha Mohr, Office Max Sales Center; P.R. Chair- Nanette Hathaway, University of Oklahoma; Bylaws /Policies Chair- Pat Nolen, Norman Public Schools
The United Way of Norman's Impact Councils have also added some new leaders. Kim Jackson, community volunteer, chairs the Successful Children and Youth Council. She is joined by Sharon Heatly, Norman Public Schools, who will serve as Vice Chair.
Diana Hartley, Sarkeys Foundation, is chairing the Strong and Safe Individuals and Families Council. Vice Chair is Sandra Longcrier, OG--E.
