CCFI inducts new board members
The Center for Children and Families, Inc. announced its 2009/2010 board of directors at the agency's annual meeting Monday.
The social service agency welcomed new board members Debby Burns, Gary Copeland, Mark Cox, Terri Fowler, Mary Hatley and Betty London. The new incoming officers are President Jennifer Newell, Vice-President Mike Bumgarner, Treasurer Betty London and Secretary Francine Gissy.
"We are honored to have such a dedicated group of professionals who are passionate about children's issues on our board of directors," said Linda Terrell, executive director.
CCFI recognized and honored community partners at the annual meeting, including local agencies, businesses and funding contributors for their partnership with CCFI to provide excellent services to children in Cleveland County.
The agency awarded service recognition awards to long-term staff members including clinical director Fran Roberson for 25 years, executive director Linda Terrell for 13 years, senior program specialist of teen parenting Kelley Nedbalek for 13 years, senior program specialist of parents assistance Cherie Miller for 12 years and data management specialist Rachelle Cook for 10 years. Outgoing board members include Kelly Atkinson, Steve Clark, Scott Elliott, Linda Miller, Steve Morren, Kevin Osuna, Linda Sexton and Jason Willeford.
The Center for Children and Families is celebrating its 40th anniversary in the community during 2009. The social service agency works to improve the lives of children in Cleveland County with services that include out-of-school time programs in the evenings and weekends, supportive and educational services to foster and adoptive parents, teen parents, parents struggling with abuse and neglect, parents with babies and parents in high-conflict divorce situations.
