NOBLE — Noble Health Care Center, 1501 N. 8th St., will host a series of events designed to celebrate the lives and relationships of residents, families and staff during Nursing Home Week, Sunday through May 19.
The week’s theme is “Celebrate the Journey.”
“Our residents have lived full lives, and we want to honor each and every person who has allowed us to journey with them,” said Anne Diaz, the center’s administrator.
“This is a perfect opportunity to involve families, community members, youth and others in our community who share our respect for the elderly and disabled among us,” she said.
Some of the week’s events include:
· Monday — Pajama Day
· Tuesday — Favorite Sports Day
· Wednesday — Crazy Hat and Sock Day
· Thursday — Senior Olmpics with Heartland Hospice at First Baptist Church in Norman
Olympic opening ceremonies begin at 9 a.m. A cookout and balloon lift will be from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday.
National Nursing Home Week is observed annually by the American Health Care Association.
Noble Health Care Center is a 110-bed, private-pay and Medicaid pay facility.
