New family clinic will be open to general public

NORMAN — Officials with the Chickasaw Nation recently broke ground on a complex that will house Sovereign Medical Clinic and Sovereign Pharmacy & Fine Gifts in Norman. A division of Sovereign Medical Solutions, the two businesses will be located in one building next to Riverwind Casino.

Chris Anoatubby, Chickasaw Nation Division of Commerce chief medical solutions officer, said increased employee numbers in the region and the Nation’s recent expansion of services at a similar clinic in Ada have led to an increased opportunity to provide healthcare services for those living in Cleveland County.

“We have quickly learned offering convenient access to a high-quality health care clinic and pharmacy services is valued highly among our employees, both native and non-native, who are in search of primary health care services,” Anoatubby said. “This new facility takes our ability to serve one step further as we also will be able to provide convenient health care for anyone living in the Norman, Purcell and Blanchard areas.”

Clinic services will include medical care as well as laboratory and radiology capabilities. The new facility will be approximately 13,700-square feet and house 12 exam rooms, an in-house laboratory, retail pharmacy with two-lane drive thru, and gift shop. The complex will have a staff of 30. It also has been designed for future expansion, if needed.
