Norman — The largest academy in the Norman Police Department’s history will graduate in a ceremony at 2 p.m. Friday at Bethel Baptist Church, 1717 W. Lindsey St.
The 22 graduating cadets will hear from guest speaker Kevin L. War, Cabinet Secretary of Safety and Security and Commissioner of Public Safety.
The public is invited to the ceremony.
The cadets will begin field training after graduation and are expected to be on their own by August, according to a news release from the Norman Police Department.
Nine of the cadets were hired with money from the Public Safety Sales Tax enacted in 2008, according to the release.
