Norman — Law enforcers continued their investigation Friday into bones discovered Wednesday in a wooded area of northeast Norman.
While it has been determined the bones are human, questions of sex, age, time of death and cause of death went unanswered Friday by the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office.
Cherokee Ballard, OSME spokeswoman, said because of weekend staffing, no information is expected before Monday afternoon.
The bones were discovered Wednesday near the 2500 block of 168th Avenue NE.
Police investigators currently are treating the remains as an unattended death, Norman Police Capt. Tom Easley said Thursday. Determining an identity for the deceased is the first order of business, Easley said.
