Norman — Science Cafe Norman will discuss the biological degradation of alkanes — compounds containing methane and propane — during its monthly meeting 7 p.m. April 1 at Norman Public Library.
The group will hear from Dr. Amy Callaghan, who researches the effects of microbe communities on these alkane communities. The purpose of her research is to eventually use microbes on a larger scale in the field to restore the natural environment altered by these contaminants.
This event is free and open to the public.
Snacks will be provided by the Friends of the Norman Public Library, and coffee is provided by Gray Owl Cafe.
