Norman — Cleveland Area Rapid Transit is swinging for the fences for its Bus to the Ballpark series, which begins Saturday with free baseball tickets for bus riders.

Those who pay the regular bus fare to ride the Apartment Loop route to the 2 p.m. Oklahoma vs. Baylor opening pitch at L. Dale Mitchell Park will receive free admission to the game.

The route stops at the baseball field once an hour on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets for the baseball game will be on the bus at noon.

Bus to the Ballpark is a CART partnership with the OU Athletics Department that provides free tickets to selected Sooners’ baseball and softball games for bus riders.

The Apartment Loop route stops at the L. Dale Mitchell Park and Marita Hynes Field at the OU Softball Complex 15 minutes after the hour.

Riders can park on the OU campus and walk to the main CART terminal on the South Oval to catch the bus, park along the route and walk to the nearest stop or ride another route to the South Oval to transfer to the Apartment Loop.

Other Bus to the Ballpark games include OU baseball vs. Missouri on April 10 and softball games against Texas on April 17 and Kansas May 1. All games are 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
