NORMAN — Norman police have identified an alleged suspect in connection to a shooting that sent one person to the hospital Wednesday morning.
Norman Police Capt. Tom Easley said police need the public’s help in finding 20-year-old David Clayton Duncan. Detectives have probable cause to believe Duncan is responsible for shooting Randy Hayes, 27, of Norman.
Easley said Hayes was in stable condition Thursday at Norman Regional Hospital. He suffered multiple bullet wounds.
Easley said dispatchers received a call about the shooting at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday. The caller reported seeing a man bleeding on the side of the road in the 2600 block of 108th Avenue NE. The location is between Rock Creek and Tecumseh roads.
Along with police, Norman firefighters and EMSStat paramedics responded. EMSStat transported Hayes to Norman Regional Hospital.
Easley said detectives are pursuing formal charges and seeking an arrest warrant for Duncan for assault and battery with a deadly weapon. Anyone who sees Duncan should call Norman police at 321-1600 or Crime Stoppers at 366-7867.
