Suspect sought in eastside shooting

NORMAN — Norman police detectives are investigating a shooting Wednesday morning on 108th Avenue NE between Tecumseh and Rock Creek roads.

Norman Police Capt. Tom Easley said dispatchers received a call about the shooting at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday.

The caller reported seeing a man bleeding on the side of the road in the 2600 block of 108th Avenue NE.

Easley said along with police, Norman firefighters and EMSStat paramedics responded. Emergency workers found the man. He had been shot at least one time.

EMSStat transported the victim to Norman Regional Hospital. Easley said his condition was not immediately available. He didn’t know the extent of the victim’s injuries.

Easley said the victim named a suspect. Police were searching for that person on Wednesday.

He said investigators also were looking into a motive regarding the shooting.
