Former executive faces charges

NORMAN — Charges were filed today against the former executive director of Full Circle Senior Adult Daycare Center, Inc., for embezzling from the organization.

Tammy Colleen Vaughn, 55, is charged with embezzlement by bailee for a sum of $4,965.84.

Vaughn was the acting executive director for the center, located at 1304 Lindsey Plaza Drive, when the center’s board of directors’ president discovered a misappropriation of assets and services purchased with the organization’s credit card, according to the affidavit filed with the charges.

Assets and services allegedly obtained by Vaugn included purchases from clothing stores, as well as personal care item purchases, according to the affidavit.

Vaughn was working for the center from Oct. 17, 2005, through July 17, 2012, before her employment was terminated on Aug. 8, 2012.

According to the affidavit, Vaughn admitted in a letter she addressed to the center’s board of directors on Aug. 24, 2012, that she had used the credit card to purchase $1,913.92 in an attempt to pay for purchases.

A representative with the Cleveland County District Attorney’s Office said sentencing for an embezzlement charge can be up to 10 years in jail and/or up to a $10,000 fine.
