One candidate filed for a seat on the Noble City Council during the first day of filing Monday. Gail Hatfield, 4613 Brookwood Drive in Noble, filed for the Ward 3 unexpired term.
Candidates can file from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Wednesday at the Cleveland County Election Board, 641 E. Robinson.
The positions up for election are as follows: City Council Member for Ward 2, a 2-year term; City Council Member for Ward 4, a 2-year term and City Council Member for Ward 3 (unexpired term), 1-year remaining on term.
Prospective candidates must be over 21 and must have been registered at an address within the ward for one year prior to filing for that office. The City of Noble General Election will be held April 6, 2010.
Those who intend to file for office will be required to complete a Declaration of Candidacy packet, which is available at the Cleveland County Election Board. For more information, call the election board at 366-0210.
