‘Undercover Boss’ Ron Lynch expects laughs from family

NORMAN — At Norman High School, Ron Lynch didn’t spend any time in the drama room. He was too busy playing sports. Now, he wishes he’d taken an acting class or two.

The former Norman resident and high school basketball standout will make his professional acting debut tonight. He will be featured on CBS’ “Undercover Boss” at 7 p.m.

“It’s wild,” said Lynch, founder of Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery, a string of Celtic-themed sports pubs. “When they called, I didn’t pay much attention to it, but our marketing people told me the value of the exposure. I said, ‘Let’s do it.’”

He said he was a big fan of the show, which follows different executives as they leave their offices to examine the inner workings of their companies. Lynch hasn’t seen tonight’s show. He expects his relatives who still live in Norman will have watch parties.

“I’m sure all my relatives there in Norman will be gathered around the TV to get a good laugh,” he said.

After high school graduation in 1968, Lynch went on to play baseball and basketball at the University of Oklahoma. He owned a sporting goods store in Norman. His Tilted Kilt restaurant was developed in the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas.

There are no Oklahoma locations, but Lynch said he is talking with an existing restaurant in Bricktown about becoming a franchise partner.
