Box arrested Saturday in Oklahoma City

By John Shinn

Oklahoma linebacker Austin Box was arrested for disorderly conduct early Saturday morning in Oklahoma City.

According to an Oklahoma City police affidavit, an officer witnessed Box urinating below the entrance to Skky Bar at 7 S. Mickey Mantle Drive in Oklahoma City. When confronted by the officer, Box told officer he "had to go and they had made him leave the bar."

Box, 21, was booked into the Oklahoma County jail for disorderly conduct. He was released at 5:25 a.m. Saturday morning.

This is the second time in less than a year Box has been in trouble for urinating in public. Box was cited by Norman police in March for outraging public decency after he was seen urinating outside a Norman restaurant on Campus Corner.

The junior linebacker has started six games over the last two seasons and made 70 career tackles.
