Reservations available for La Tour de Vin

NORMAN — Norman’s three Rotary Clubs are closing in on preparations for this year’s Le Tour de Vin wine tasting and auction event. Oklahoma Heisman winners Steve Owens, Billy Sims, and Jason White, are serving as honorary chairs for the annual fundraiser that will benefit Norman’s Thunderbird Clubhouse.

The events are scheduled for Friday and Saturday. Friday night’s event, Barrels and Boots, is already sold out. Reservations are still being accepted for the Saturday evening event, Le Tour de Vin.

Wine tasting made possible by corporate sponsor Republic National Distributing Company will include more than 200 wines and several winemakers pouring their wines.

Ten local restaurants will provide culinary delicacies for Saturday’s participants.

In addition to the wine and dining fare, both live and silent auctions will be held. Champagne sponsor, Fowler Toyota, is donating a 2009 Prius for the live auction. Other live and silent auction items include OU memorabilia, and vacation packages; there will be something for everyone at this auction.

Reservations are being accepted for Saturday evening via the event’s website, www.letourdevin.com, or by phone, (405) 308-5944.
