Just warming up

Norman — Editor, The Transcript:

I was interested to read the article on global warming by Professor Deming (Transcript, Feb. 20).

It was refreshing to hear from a geologist who considers 150 years to be anything other than a very short span of time when it comes to describing planetary processes. I was a bit concerned however, that he also seemed to have some trouble telling the difference between climate and weather. Nevertheless, I hope The Transcript will continue its series of articles featuring local scientists commenting on important world events. Perhaps you could get one of our local climatologists to write something about the Middle East.

  • Biking to work doesn’t need to be difficult
