Thanks for making Stuff the Bus event successful

NORMAN — Editor, The Transcript:

CART, the public transit system of the University of Oklahoma and the city of Norman, had its first Stuff the Bus event last week for Operation Homefront Oklahoma. Thanks to generous Norman residents, the event was a huge success.

CART (Cleveland Area Rapid Transit) collected more than $700 in gift cards, in addition to coats, toys, diapers and more.

The donations go to needy military families in Oklahoma from all branches of service. Operation Homefront also helps wounded warriors transition to VA care.

We would like to thank Norman-area residents who made donations, both Norman Walmart stores where our buses were staged, volunteers who staffed the buses, and the Norman Transcript and others who helped us get the word out about this very worthy cause.

Stuff the Bus events, hosted by Oklahoma Transit Association, are being hosted through Oct. 17 across Oklahoma.

Thanks again for helping make Norman’s first year memorable and successful.

Doug Myers

Director, OU Parking and Transportation Services
