United Way close to its goal

NORMAN — Editor, The Transcript:

Our amazing year as the campaign chairs for United Way of Norman is almost over.

In a little over a week, we will gather to report what we’ve accomplished this year. We want that to be a celebration of blowing past the United Way’s goal of $2.05 million.

Right now, we are really close to hitting that goal, and we don’t want to come up short. Every dollar makes a difference. If you’ve been thinking about giving, the time is now.

Your gift benefits dozens of programs, programs that are vital to Norman.

You help children who are victims of abuse, ensure that the hungry can get a hot meal, provide medical services to people who can’t afford them and increase the independence of adults living with disabilities.

Think about how much stronger you can make our community with just one donation.

Many of you are already making a difference. We have seen some incredible successes this year.

The United Way Pacesetter companies raised more than $1 million.

Celebrity Sing brought in more money than it ever has. A bunch of guys growing beards already has raised more than $30,000.

The generosity of the people who live and work in Norman never ceases to amaze us.

We have received incredible support this year from all over the community, and we thank you for what you’ve done.

If you would like to give, call the United Way of Norman at 329-2025 or send a check to 2424 Springer Drive, Suite 304, Norman, OK, 73069.

Thank you again for your support during this year’s campaign.

Tom Cooper and Cindy Nashert
