Nonprofit receives donation

NORMAN — Editor, The Transcript:

This week, we received a gift that was anything but simple. We received $5,000 in proceeds from the Norman Philharmonic performance “A Simple Gift.” Dr. Z and the Norman Philharmonic put together an inspirational performance to blend music and giving, all to benefit Food and Shelter residents and guests. With these funds, Food and Shelter has been able to continually provide shelter nights for women, children and men who are homeless.

In fact, thanks to the Norman Phil and our community supporters, we can provide 200 nights of shelter for women, children and men who would otherwise be out in the cold on the streets or in their cars. Thank you to Dr. Z and the Norman Philharmonic board and volunteers. Thank you for providing the gift of shelter to our neighbors and friends in need.

executive director,
