God bless America and the NRA

NORMAN — Editor, The Transcript:

In response to “Amendment needs to be fully deployed” in a recent Sunday Transcript:

I am a member of the NRA and when Mr. Larry Steele referred to the NRA and its members as wimps, I looked up his phone number and gave him a call. I told Mr. Steele that anytime he wanted to meet with me and call me a wimp to my face I would be glad to meet with him. And I told him if he called me a wimp to my face I had something to put right back in his face. He declined to meet with me.

Really Mr. Steele. A coward calling me a wimp. That’s the pot calling the kettle black. I called him a coward and he told me name calling would get us nowhere. I said name calling, what would you consider the word wimp in the context you used it in?

I will not even respond to your comments about your nephew, your cousin, the military weapons and explosives, or kids that carry derringers to school. What I would like to address is the way you sarcastically used the terms “sacred second amendment” and “blessed document” to belittle our second amendment and the men who forged it. Who do you think you are?

I challenge you Mr. Steele to go to a veteran’s hospital and tell the men and women back from the war that in your opinion they fought and some gave it all for nothing.

I have six children, worked hard, never been in jail. I hold my freedoms and my rights second only to King James. I am a patriot, a law abiding American and I will stand tall and deliver if need be.

My brothers and sisters in the NRA and myself all have common sense that governs what kinds of things we want and why we want them. So, from now on when Norman and all the good people that live here hear Mr. Steele running his mouth they will know that is all he’s doing...running his mouth.

I gave you the chance and you hid behind your words. If you’re going to talk the talk (wimps) then walk the walk.

Come get some Mr. Steele.

God bless the red, white and blue and the NRA.

EARL HERFURTH
