Norman — Editor, The Transcript:
I almost didn’t write this letter, but on second thought, decided that our fire, ambulance and ER departments do not get enough attention and gratitude for the hard work that they do.
A while ago, we had to make a 911 call for an ambulance for me. The firemen were there so fast that I couldn’t even decide how short the time was. The ambulance arrived almost on top of the firemen. Without fail, I was treated with professionalism, courtesy, gentleness and patience (even considering the fact that it was around 1 a.m.) by the firemen and EMTs. They were so good to a very frightened woman. It was difficult for me to admit that I was unable to take care of my problem myself.
We got to the emergency room at Norman Regional Hospital so fast that it was unbelievable. I received help immediately. The doctors and nurses at the ER were just as gentle, kind and patient, while being professional, as the firemen and EMTs.
Given the condition that I was in, I don’t remember many of the details. I wish that I had gotten all their names. Nonetheless, thank you Norman firemen, Norman ambulance team and ER staff for your help. This community couldn’t exist without you and your services.
