NORMAN — Editor, The Transcript:
Everyone loves Gardenias
And Lilies in the pond.
Or Iris and Sunflowers,
The artists are very fond.
The Violet shrinks too much;
The Morning Glory seems too shy;
Birds of Paradise too stately;
And Carnations take to dye.
A Daisy can be fragile,
And Glads are rather stiff.
There are Daffodils and Jonquils,
But who can tell the diff.
It’s hard to wear a Tulip,
Despite what’s said in song,
And it’s not very often
That Apple Blossoms come along.
If you are giving me flowers,
I hope you read my mind!
Since everyone gets Roses,
An Orchid suits me just fine!
