It is time that Oklahoma prioritizes education and invests in our children’s future. Oklahoma’s students don’t have the same educational opportunities as kids in bordering states, like Arkansas and Texas. In fact, we are dead last in the region in what we invest in our children’s education.
Our kids are being forced to use old materials, learn on outdated technology and attend increasingly crowded schools. State Question 744 will ensure that Oklahoma can recruit and retain quality teachers and that our children will have up-to-date classroom materials. It will also ensure oversight and transparency in school funding and performance by requiring published annual reports to inform citizens and local decision makers.
If we expect our students to excel and compete in the new economy, we need to provide them the educational foundation to do so. SQ744 will give our children the tools they need to be successful.
