Sherri Coale more than just a coach

NORMAN — Editor, The Transcript:

Dear Coach Coale:

I am a fan, not just of you as a coach, but also and maybe more of you as a writer.

Your “Pink Ladder” piece in Sunday’s Transcript is excellent. You tell a great story unusually well and with a writing talent that rivals your talent as a coach.

I have a degree in journalism, worked on large and small newspapers as a reporter/editor for years and have worked with many excellent writers in subsequent careers in education and government. Along the way, I also associated with some good coaches. I know some writers who think they can coach and a few coaches who think they can write. You do both very well.

Well done and thank you.

LANCE WARD
