Voting for faves begins

The Norman Transcript

NORMAN — Members of the community can begin voting in the Reader’s Choice Awards/Best of the Best for their favorite Norman restaurants, doctors, businesses, services and more by filling out a ballot located on Page B10 in today’s Transcript.

“Once again, we are delighted this year to provide readers the opportunity to pick the Best of the Best of Norman,” said Terry Connor, publisher of The Norman Transcript.

This year’s categories include dining, shopping, entertainment, health/wellness, education and services. The Transcript will publish ballots several times this month.

On the ballot, readers name individuals and businesses in more than 300 subcategories. Readers must return the original ballots by Jan. 18.

Debbie Knoll, director of advertising at The Transcript, said an outside group tallies results and determines winners based on the most votes in a category.

There will be some changes in the voting. Connor said in the past, voters would vote once and the top three businesses would be selected in each subcategory. This year, readers will vote first with the printed ballot, then can vote online between the top three.
