NORMAN — Cleveland County Democrats provided Christmas gifts for five children from two families through the Center for Children and Families, Inc.
Party members were able to fulfill each child’s requests, with additional party members still wanting to donate further, according to organizers.
CCFI staff said the two families were the last ones still to be serviced and were glad the organization volunteered to provide for them this Christmas, according to project organizers Kathy Kelley, Suzette McDowell and Molly Roberts.
This program will again be available in Christmas 2011, beginning early December, to those interested and will most likely be expanded to a larger gifting program to more children and perhaps to other needy citizens in the community.
The non-partisan event is open to everyone willing and trustworthy to donate outside the Democratic Party.
