Heartland Hospice needs volunteers

NORMAN — Want to make a true difference in the lives of seniors and their families, in just a few hours a month?

Heartland Home Health and Hospice is in need of volunteers, according to a news release from the organization.

Among the volunteering options are: providing friendly visits, helping with administrative and special office projects, helping with nursing home events and activities, running errands, caregiver relief sitting, working with the family bereavement program and more.

Volunteers may contribute as many or as few hours as they wish, on a flexible schedule that meets their needs, according to the release.

“No matter what, when you volunteer with hospice your soul will feel enriched,” longtime Heartland volunteer Robert Ferrier said in the release. “You will know that you have made a difference in the time you are there.”

Heartland’s patients are throughout the Greater Oklahoma City metro area, and volunteer training classes are scheduled regularly.
