Medieval fair hosting auditions

NORMAN — Norman Medieval Fair is having auditions for the 2013 human chessboard and Medieval song and dance shows at 10 a.m. Saturday at Reaves Park, 2501 Jenkins Ave.

All ages are welcome to audition, and all techniques necessary for roles will be taught by the Arthurian Order of Avalon. Rehearsals will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday starting Oct. 20 in Norman. Cast members must be available for performances the weekend of the fair, April 5-7.

“We welcome as many people as possible to join us on our compound, interacting with patrons, participating in the song and dance show and generally having fun,” said Chris Bailey, Arthurian Order of Avalon frama guild master.

Positions being auditioned include major roles such as King Arthur, Queen Guinevere, Lancelot, Merlin and a number of other smaller parts.

In the event of rain, an alternate audition venue will be determined. A new location will be announced ahead of time via the Arthurian Order of Avalon’s Facebook group at www.facebook.com/groups/ArthurianOrderof-Avalon.
