Deputy arrests homicide suspect

NORMAN — A Cleveland County sheriff’s deputy arrested an Oklahoma City man wanted on a first-degree murder warrant out of California.

Guillermo William Delgado, 54, is being held at the Cleveland County Detention Center on the outstanding warrant.

About 11 a.m. Thursday, a deputy spotted a 1997 GMC pickup with a cracked windshield near NW 27th and Shields in Moore. When the deputy conducted a traffic stop near the intersection, Delgado was identified as the driver. Dispatchers alerted the deputy that Delgado’s driver’s license expired in April 1994.

Delgado was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license. As he was booked into jail, detention officers fingerprinted Delgado. When the fingerprints were entered into the Automated Fingerprint Identification System, it revealed the murder warrant.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement placed a detainer on Delgado.
