NORMAN — The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man who died in a car wreck Wednesday night in Slaughterville as Carl Goff Jr., 54, of Noble, who was bass player for country music star Toby Keith
Dispatch was notified of the accident at 96th Street and Cemetery Road at 7:43 p.m. Wednesday. Two vehicles were involved in the accident, which is still under investigation by the traffic collision reconstruction team.
Cleveland County Commissioner Rusty Sullivan said one of his employees was involved in the accident and suffered minor injuries, including a busted lip.
“He didn’t come into work today. He was shook up, of course, any time you’re involved in something like that,” Sullivan said.
When first responders arrived at the scene Wednesday night, they reported that one car was on top of the other and one of the cars was emitting smoke.
