Another charge filed in OSU assault case

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) — Prosecutors have filed another sexual battery charge against a 22-year-old man accused of targeting fellow male Oklahoma State University students while they slept.

State media report that prosecutors filed the latest charge against Nathan Cochran on Friday.

Cochran now faces four counts of sexual battery in Payne County.

Cochran previously pleaded not guilty to the charges. He was released on bail and is due in court Monday.

Cochran’s attorney, Jay Husbands, did not immediately respond to a phone message seeking comment Friday.

OSU has drawn criticism for not immediately reporting the alleged incidents when they first came to light in November. Police say they didn’t learn of the case until Dec. 6 when contacted for comment by the campus newspaper.

OSU has promised to review how it handled the claims.
