Planned Parenthood request denied

OKLAHOMA CITY — In a ruling Monday, U.S. District Judge Stephen Friot denied Planned Parenthood’s motion for a preliminary injunction that would have stopped the Oklahoma Health Department from ending its contracts with three Tulsa-area clinics.

Attorneys for Planned Parenthood have argued the organization’s support for abortion rights played a role in the department’s decision not to renew the contracts for the federal Women, Infants and Children, or WIC, program. Oklahoma Commissioner of Health Terry Cline testified last week that was not the case.

Police:More violence planned

ADA — Jerrod Murray, 18, is charged with first-degree murder in the Dec. 5 shooting death of 18-year-old Generro Sanchez, an East Central University student.

Murray remains jailed without bond. The Oklahoman reported Monday that an affidavit for a search warrant of Murray's dorm room says Murray told his roommate the night of Sanchez's killing that he had "reached or accomplished objective A."

Prosecutor's investigator Josh Dean wrote in the affidavit that the comment leads investigators to believe Murray had planned other crimes.

OSBI investigating Langston shooting

LANGSTON — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has joined the investigation into the shooting death of a man in Langston.

The OSBI says Michael DeWayne Milton was killed while apparently trying to steal a car from outside a home Friday night..The OSBI says there have been no arrests and did not release the names of the two men who lived at the home.
