NORMAN — Getaways, vintage arcade game among items in two auctions
The Norman Chamber of Commerce raised more than $25,000 (estimated) in live and silent auction sales Thursday evening at its annual soiree at Riverwind Casino.
In addition to dinner and live entertainment provided by the band Silver, guests were treated to a silent and live auction, vying for everything from gift baskets to a vintage arcade game, week-long getaways and courtside seating for four at an Oklahoma City Thunder game.
Master of Ceremonies Trey Bates commented on the “energy” in the room, as audience members clapped along to their favorite songs. A surprise performance preceding the live auction featured the vocal talent of Republic Bank President and CEO Chuck Thompson, leading Silver in a cover of the Rolling Stones’ “Honky Tonk Woman.”
The evening’s proceeds benefited the Norman Chamber of Commerce, serving the chamber’s mission of developing local business, economic growth and overall community enrichment for the city of Norman.
The Chickasaw Nation, Republic Bank and Trust and Primrose Funeral Service were presenting sponsors for the evening.
