Chamber banquet serves up food, dance

NORMAN — The Noble Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring its annual banquet Jan. 21 at Curtis Inge Middle School, 1201 N. 8th St.

The festivities will begin at 6 p.m. with a reception, silent auction and music provided by the Noble High School Band.

A photographer will be on hand to take pictures during the evening, which will feature dance demonstrations and instruction led by Julia’s Dance Studio in Norman. There will be dancing following dinner.

Members and their guests will be seated at 6:45 p.m. where they may participate in a dessert auction, Dawn McNutt, Noble Chamber Executive Director, said.

“Chamber members and citizens around town are making fabulous desserts for tables to bid on,” McNutt said. “Diners are encouraged to bid on their favorite dessert, win it and enjoy it after their meal.”

After the dessert auction, a catered dinner will be served at 7:10 p.m. Guests are asked to wear cocktail attire. Proceeds from the auction and dinner will benefit the chamber.

“Our annual dinner is one of our main sources of non-dues income for the year,” McNutt said. “It helps keep the chamber in business, pay the bills, support our building fund and keep the doors open.”

Individual tickets are $25.

Table sponsorship packages are $500 and include written articles throughout the year, chamber promotion, featured membership on the Noble Chamber website and sponsorship acknowledgement signs at the event.

Although a complete list was not available at press time, so far, sponsors include Republic Bank, OG&E, Sun Construction/ABS Golf Cars, McClain Bank, Sonic, ONG and Norman Regional Hospital.

McNutt said there is still time to sponsor a table at the event or donate items for the silent auction.

“This is the most fun and unique banquet and auction I’ve attended,” McNutt said. “The evening’s emphasis is on the fun of being a member of the chamber.”
