OU Printing Services wins Best of Show

NORMAN — University of Oklahoma Printing Services was recently presented with the “Best of Show” trophy by the In-Plant Printing and Mailing Association and In-Plant Graphics magazine.

In addition, OU Printing Services was awarded the largest number of awards in the In-Print contest: 13 medals of excellence, including six gold medals.

OU Printing, which was established in 1908, is the second-largest university in-plant in the country.

It won “Best of Show” for its production of “Red Spirit,” a catalog produced for the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art at OU. The full-color catalog features more than 120 pages filled with art collector, former OU law professor and museum curator Rennard Strickland’s personal memoirs and selections from his collection of Native American paintings, pottery, beadwork, katcinas or other works.

Since the inception of the contest in 1990, OU Printing Services has been awarded 140 medals of excellence in the contest.

The award was presented in early June at the IPMA national conference held in Albuquerque, N.M.
