Two candidate forums planned this week

NORMAN — Monday

Norman NEXT will host a candidate forum for the office of Senate District 15 and House District 45 from 6-7:30 p.m. on Monday at the Norman Chamber of Commerce, 115 E. Gray St. The public is invited to attend. All four candidates have been invited to participate. Candidates will be given three minutes to make opening comments, one minute to answer questions and three minutes to make closing remarks. Questions can be submitted ahead of time to Kyla McMoran, 321-7260 or kyla@normanchamber.com or the night of using provided index cards. Questions will be monitored and will be asked at the discretion of the moderator.

Tuesday

The League of Women Voters of Norman is hosting a candidate forum for statehouse races of interest to Cleveland County voters from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 16 at the Conference Center at Norman High School. It is open to the public. Parking is available by entering the Norman High parking lot from Berry Road. Candidates in contested races for the Oklahoma House of Representatives for District 20 and 45 and for Senate District 15 will participate in the forum.

Additionally, representatives for House Districts 44, 45 and 53, who are unopposed in the November election, will be present to discuss voter concerns and challenges facing the Oklahoma legislature.
