Municipal filings conclude for Moore, Lexington, Slaughterville

NORMAN — Filing ended Wednesday for Moore City Council, Lexington Town Council and Slaughterville Town Trustee and Town Treasurer positions.

Candidates filing for Moore Ward 1 are Carl D. Britton Jr., 29, 308 Madison Place Drive, Robert Krows, 41, 133 SW 16th, and Eric E. Beu, 32, 1005 Stadium Rd. For Ward 2 is Scott A. Singer, 61, 1116 NE 25th St., and Ward 3 is Jason Blair, 34, 1704 SW 31st Terrace.

Filing for Lexington Ward 3 is Dennis Mitchell, 51, 424 W. Catalpa St. For Ward 4 are David L. Adams, 46, 501 SE 7th, and Marion McWhirter, 52, 606 E. Kennedy St.

Candidates filing for Slaughterville Town Trustee positions are John P. Koehler, 62, 6701 108th Ave. SE, and Jerry Garrett, 61, 9999 72st. For Town Trustee (unexpired two-year terms) are Roy A. Shobert, 52, 8701 120th St., and Curtis Baker, 57, 8130 Timber Oaks.

There were no filings for Slaughterville town treasurer.

Cleveland County Election Board Secretary Jim Williams said the filing period for city of Noble Council members will start Monday and continue through Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Cleveland County Election Board Office, 641 E. Robinson St. in Norman.

Those positions include Noble council members in Wards 1 and 3 for two-year terms and in Ward 2 for an unexpired one-year term.

Candidates must complete a Declaration of Candidacy, which is available for download on the Cleveland County Election Board website, www.clevelandcountyelectionboard.com. Forms are also available at the Election Board office.

Forms must be notarized. The election board cannot notarize candidate filing papers.

Also, because city of Noble council member elections are non-partisan, when completing the Declaration of Candidacy form, all candidates should leave their political affiliation blank.

The City of Noble Municipal General will be April 2.
