Spaulding to seek re-election

NORMAN — City Councilman Dave Spaulding announced he will seek a second term representing Norman’s Ward 5.

“After much prayer and consideration, today I proclaim my candidacy for a second term as Councilman for Norman’s fifth ward. I am proud of my principled stands and accomplishments in the past term and look forward to another opportunity to represent the citizens of Ward 5,” Spaulding said.

“Recognizing God as our supreme ruler, protecting our personal and property rights, and capitalizing on Norman’s unique economic opportunities will be the focus of my second term. I ask for your help in guiding Norman’s forward progress while maintaining our traditional family values.”

Spaulding is a third generation resident of Norman and a lifetime resident of Ward 5. He and his brothers were raised on a family homestead and he still lives nearby. Dave is a graduate of Life Christian School and has been an entrepreneur and small business owner his entire life.

He began his community involvement with the Cleveland County Republican Lunch Club. From there he has become more involved with local and state government and various organizations that represent the Norman and Cleveland County community.

Spaulding is married and is the proud father of three little girls. In his free time, he likes to spend time with his family in outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing and kayaking.

Spaulding serves on the Council Oversight Committee and Business and Community Affairs Committee. He also serves as Council’s representative to the Board of Trustees for the City of Norman Retirement System.
