A present for the reindeer

NORMAN — I love Christmas.

When I was little, we would always make two cookies and a glass of milk. I would try to act like I was asleep when really I was peeking out the corner of my door to see if Santa or the reindeer had come.

That year, I asked my mom, “What do reindeer eat on the trip?” She said that she didn’t know, so I told her that I was going to make the reindeer some food.

I was only about 6, so I didn’t really know how to make food. I remember getting all these seasonings and dumping them on the front porch. When I woke up, it was all gone. I really did think that the reindeer ate it.

It was the best Christmas I had — the year that I gave a present to Santa’s reindeer.
