Aging Services Inc. has partnered with the Culinary Institute at Platt College to host the Inaugural Gingerbread House Competition Event as part of the 18th annual Moore Old Town Holiday Gala.

The event takes place 5 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Brand Senior Center, 501 E. Main St.

All proceeds will be used to help fund Aging Services Inc., which provides programs and services for senior adults in Cleveland County that aid seniors in living healthy and independent lives while remaining in their own homes.

The general public will be given the opportunity to vote for the house that they like best in each category, which will include Teen, Adult, Family, Corporate and Professional. There also will be a vote for the gingerbread house that is the Best of Show. Most of the completed houses will be included in a silent auction to take place that evening.

There also will be a gingerbread house building demonstration by Culinary Arts students from Platt College between 6 and 7 p.m. Gene Leiterman, culinary arts instructor for Platt College, is creating a centerpiece gingerbread house that will be a replica of the Old School in Moore.

Beverages and light snacks also will be served. There is no cost for admission.
